Contacting the Club

By phone: You can phone the club at (061) 227549 or (061) 227974. Someone should be on duty in the bar each evening from 7pm, and also in the mornings.

Please phone to arrange your time, and book and pay for the court. Fees are payable directly to the coach.

New Members

New members are encouraged to join in the many tennis competitions and social events at the club. Please feel free to contact Cliodhna Mulcahy, who is our New Members facilitator, for help.

Junior Tennis

The Junior Ladder is now up and running again. Please encourage your children to get involved. Further information from Mary Moran at 229774.

Court Fees

Did you know that your court fee is payable at all times – no exclusions for weekends, etc. The money goes towards paying for the maintenance of the facilities.

The 2008 Limerick Senior Tennis Open ran from 5th - 12th July. A huge number of competitors – more than double the number of entries in 2007 – played in twenty five different competitions over eight days, giving a great display of tennis. Click here for full results.

American Doubles are back for the summer! Click here for a poster (which you can put up on your notice board at work). Details are as follows:

· Every Wednesday evening from 16^th July to 27^th August. Play starts at 8pm. Just turn up on the night or phone in your entries by 7:30pm that evening.

· Open to members and non-members alike.

· If you don’t have a partner, you will be allocated one on the night.

Eugene Stockil, RIP

The Catholic Institute Athletic Club Tennis Section would like to extend their sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Eugene Stockil who died suddenly on the 10^th of June, 2008. Eugene was a staff member at CIAC for many years, and will be fondly remembered by club members.

Your webmaster is just back from vacation so I’m catching up on two week’s worth of announcements ...

· A new “Current/Upcoming Competition” box has been added to the main CIAC Tennis Section page. This will contain useful information about the currently ongoing or upcoming competition.

· The Limerick Senior Open will be held from 5^th –12^th July at CIAC Tennis Club. Full details and entry forms are available here* or from the clubhouse. The closing date for entries is Friday, 27^th June at 9pm. Grades include 1-2, 3, 4, 5 and 6-7. Many thanks to our tournament sponsors, Millenium Surveys Ltd., Lagan Group, Bank of Ireland, John Wiley & Sons and Indigo Signs.

· Speaking of which, the organizers would like volunteers to help out with desk duty during the week. If you’re available, please let Fiona Maguire know. For more information, click here.

· Finals’ night of the Mortgage Search Doubles competition was held on Monday 16^th June at the Catholic Institute Tennis Club. With a large number of entries, competition was great in all groups. Presentations were made to the winners and runners-up in the clubhouse, after a very entertaining evening of tennis, delicious food and craic. Many thanks to Ultan & Anne Ui Nuallain, Mortgage Search, and their son Ronan, for their continued support of this competition. Click here for full results.
