Subject: Desk duty for Limerick Open
Hi everyone,
As you can imagine, the
organising of a competition like the Limerick Open takes quite a bit of work.
And as the saying goes, many hands make light work!
Therefore, if
anybody is interested in helping out during the week of the competition by
covering desk duty for a couple hours, please let me know.
Desk duty
generally involves the following:
- Ensuring all
players check in before playing
- Allotting courts/tennis
balls to players
- Recording of
scores
- Answering any
queries/ telephone calls etc
- Times of duty
are 5.45-9pm, 8.45pm - finish (Monday - Friday). Times for the opening Sat/Sun,
and finals day, will be finalised when all entries are received.
Two people will
be on desk duty at any one time. If you are scheduled to play while on desk
duty, arrangement will be made to cover the desk. A member of the committee
will be present at all times to provide any extra help. Tournament referee Mike
Galvin will also be available to answer any queries.
Your help, for
any few hours, during the week would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know
if you would be wiling to help out, and what
days/times would suit you best. The more people that help out, the less hours
everyone will have to do.
Don't forget,
closing date for the Limerick Open is Friday 27th June.
Regards,
Fiona Maguire
